About FIA Formula 3
FIA Formula 3 is an FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) certified racing series for formula racing cars. The series was created in 2019 by merging the GP3 Series and the European Formula 3 Championship.
In 2023, there will be 10 race weekends as part of the Formula 1 supporting programme, including among others Melbourne, Monaco, Silverstone and Monza.
Unlike in F2, where 2 different tyre compounds are available, there is only one tyre compound available per weekend for the drivers racing in F3 category.
To promote overtaking, there is DRS, just like in Formula 1. A wing on the rear wing is folded up when you are within one second of the car in front in order to obtain more top speed.

From the 2019 season, all FIA Formula 3 Championship cars will utilize the all-new XAP Single-seat Formula 2451 S3 steering wheel with a larger dash screen and also three new rotary switches (similar to the current Formula 2 steering wheel)

Points
What is special about Formula 3 is that there are 2 points for pole position.
In the sprint race there are 10 points for victory, 9 points for second place, 8 points for third place and so on down to one point for 10th place.
For the feature race, the points system familiar from Formula 1 will be used with 25 points for first place, 18 points for second place and 15 points for third place.
In each race, one point will be awarded to the driver who achieves the fastest lap time, providing he was in the top 10 positions of the final race classification.
There are no mandatory pit stops.
