About FIA Formula 2
FIA Formula 2 is a single-seater championship organised by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile).
The series was introduced in 2017, following the rebranding of the long-term Formula One feeder series GP2.
In 2023, there will be 14 race weekends as part of the Formula 1 supporting programme, including among others Melbourne, Monaco, Zandvoort and Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Unlike in F3, there are 2 different tyre compounds available per race weekend.
To promote overtaking, there is DRS, just like in Formula 1. A wing on the rear wing is folded up when you are within one second of the car in front in order to obtain more top speed.

As the Formula 2 Championship is a spec series, the Dallara F2 2018 Chassis is raced by every team and driver competing in the series.

Points:
Like in F3, Formula 2 awards 2 points for the pole position.
In the sprint race there are 10 points for victory, 9 points for second place, 8 points for third place and so on down to one point for 10th place.
For the feature race, the points system familiar from Formula 1 will be used with 25 points for first place, 18 points for second place and 15 points for third place.
There is one mandatory pitstop during the feature race, because each of the 2 tyre compounds of the race weekend must be used in the race.
In each race, one point will be awarded to the driver who achieves the fastest lap time.
