About FIA Formula Regional Middle East Championship

The 2023 Formula Regional Middle East Championship was the inaugural season of the championship after the renaming from the 2018 created Formula Regional Asian Championship. The season was held in January and February of 2023. The Championship included 5 rounds (2x Dubai, 2x Kuwait and 1x Abu Dhabi).

It was the first ever Formula Regional Championship where PHM Racing participated. They kept the fight for the Championship alive until the last race weekend in Abu Dhabi. In the end Taylor Barnard finished as runner-up in the Drivers Championship. PHM Racing also secured the runner-up spot in the Teams Standings with the help from Nikita Bedrin and Joshua Dufek.

The Formula Regional Middle East Championship has proven to be a successful platform for young drivers looking to progress towards higher-level championships, with several former drivers now competing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, European Formula Regional Championship, and other international racing categories. The championship also provides a showcase for regional talent, and has helped to raise the profile of motorsport in the Middle East.
