FIA F2 in Monaco
The Formula 2 championship returns to the famous tight and twisty streets of Monaco. Roy Nissany drove at the street circuit before, but for Brad Benavides it will be the first time ever, apart from the simulator, to drive at the streets of Monaco.
During free practice Brad Benavides and Roy Nissany showed competitive times right from the beginning finishing the sessions in the midfield.
At the start of the sprint race there was an incident at the harbor chicane right in front of Roy Nissany. To avoid a crash into the stranded cars in front of him he had to come to a full stop, but the drivers behind him saw it too late and drove into the back of his car. He had retire with too much damage. Brad Benavides managed to stay out of trouble at the opening laps of the race and drove a decent race. In the end he made up 10 positions in just 30 laps around Monaco and finished only 2.5 seconds behind the points positions.
In the feature race on Sunday morning the PHM Racing crew went for an aggressive alternative strategy to get up the standings, but it went really unlucky for the team with a safety car and a red flag. In the end Roy Nissany and Brad Benavides finished in 15th and 16th place.
This weekend we will be back on track again at Barcelona for the 6th round of the championship. After finishing a lot of times ever so slightly out of the point position we will do everything to get some points on the board in Barcelona. See you on track.
